Novaform Pillow Review (2019)

The first thing you will notice about the Novaform pillow is that it comes packed inside a large cardboard box. The layout of the box screams comfort and cosiness due to the cool and relaxing colour scheme used. I can already tell this is a promising sign for things to come!

If you went to Costco to buy the product then you will be able to have a nice feel of the fabric through the cut-out portion of the box before you buy it. Immediately it is obvious that the pillow has a nice phase-change cooling feel to it.

One of my favorite things about the Novaform pillow is that it is not going to cost you an arm and a leg to buy it. In fact, the pillow is incredibly affordable – and if you are someone like me, then you do not want to spend a small fortune on any sleeping products!

Straight out of the box it is obvious that the Novaform pillow is a queen-sized pillow (as stated on the box). The pillow is relatively thin with a quite a small loft compared to most traditional pillows.

If you are a side-sleeper who has relatively broad shoulders then you may need a thicker pillow as the Novaform pillow is quite thin. You can attempt to counteract this by sliding another pillow underneath the Novaform pillow to make it sit higher up from the bed.

In saying that though, if you are someone who is smaller, then you should have no problem using the pillow as a side-sleeper.

When pressing down on the pillow you can feel it sink in pretty easily. This is due to the memory foam that is used inside the pillow.

I’m not much of a stomach sleeper so I can’t really say too much about that kind of thing, but for back sleeping, I can say that the Novaform pillow feels incredibly comfortable.

One of the great things about the pillow is that it has two different sides to it. One side features a cooling polyethylene plus polyester cover, while the other side features a breathable spandex and polyester cover.

The cooling gel memory foam feels very cool when you press down and touch it. What’s great about this material is that it will draw heat away from your head when you lay on it. Not only does this feel incredibly comfortable, but it can also help you get to sleep much faster.

Now let’s talk about the other side!

When you flip the pillow over you will notice a clear change in material. This side features a breathable spandex and polyester cover.

This first thing you will notice about this material is that it is not as cooling as the other side. When you press down on this side you can feel air push out of the pillow, which navigates through the breathable fabric of the cover.

I would probably use this side of the pillow during the colder months, as it feels less cooler compared to the other side. In the end it is up to you to decide what feels the best for you at that current point in time.

The foam density remains the same on either side of the pillow. In case you didn’t know, the pillow uses gel memory foam to fill up the interior of the pillow, which feels very comfortable to rest your head on.

You may have noticed the zipper on one of the sides of the pillow case. If you slide the zipper all the way down you can easily remove the pillow from the cover. You will want to do this when you are ready to wash the cover after it has had some use. This makes washing the cover incredibly easy to do.

If you purchase the Novaform pillow then you shouldn’t need to put an extra pillow case over the pillow, as the cover already acts as one. So just remember that in case you were planning on using another cover to protect the pillow.
