We have all been there, tucked away in bed without a wink of sleep. More often than not this is due to an issue of comfort, which is why resting your head on the right pillow is so important.
With that being said we have an awesome pillow that should hopefully solve this very problem. This pillow is none other than the BioSense 2-in-1 Shoulder Pillow, which promises a soft and comfortable experience every time you use it.
To be honest I have no idea what the 2-in-1 stands for in the name of the pillow, but hopefully we find out as we continue on in our review.
So… should you toss your old pillow out for this one?
Well… there’s only one way to find out! Let’s go ahead and try to answer that exact question as we take an in-depth look at the Brookstone BioSense pillow.

Brookstone BioSense Pillow Review
At first glance the Brookstone BioSense pillow may look just like any other pillow, but if you take a closer look then you will soon realise this is not entirely the case.
The first thing I would like to mention about this pillow is that I really like the subtle appearance of purple that pops up in the pillows design. This makes me think right away that this pillow is going to be different compared to all of the other pillows found on the market right now (and I hope so!).
Before I continue on, I should probably mention that we are looking at the side-sleeper iteration of the BioSense pillow. So just keep that in the back of your mind as there are quite a few different BioSense pillows out there right now. All of which are designed for a variety of different sleeping styles.
Unfortunately the BioSense pillow only comes in one size for you to choose from, which is standard/queen. This size measures in at 28 x 20 x 6 inches. If you are looking to buy a cover for this pillow then you should be fine going with a standard-sized pillow case.
One interesting thing about the BioSense pillow is that it incorporates the use of three different natural ingredients: charcoal, green tea, and seed oil. These ingredients are used to help control any bad-smelling odours that would normally surround the pillow. This is something that definitely does not get enough recognition from most pillow manufacturers nowadays.
What Is the Biosense Made Of?
Let’s start things off by talking about what is inside the BioSense. If you know anything about this pillow then you would probably already know that it comes with memory foam filling. Something that you may not know though is that this memory foam has perforation patterns ingrained into in to it. This is very noticeable after removing the pillow case from around the pillow.
This specific perforation pattern is there to help maximise airflow around the pillow without affecting the pillows overall durability. So with that being said, the BioSense is a great choice of pillow to have during the hotter months as it helps to keep your head and neck nice and cool. This is a definite must-have for any pillow in my opinion!
Now that we have detailed the inside of the pillow, let’s talk about what’s on the outside of the pillow!
The outer-cover of the BioSense is filled with hypoallergenic microfill, which gives the pillow an incredibly luscious plush feel to it.
With all that being said I will say that the BioSense feels incredibly light. In fact, I would even say that it feels lighter than most traditional memory foam pillow I’ve seen nowadays.
What Do We Think Of the Pillow?
Let me start off by saying that I am predominantly a side-sleeper, so when it comes to side-sleeper pillows I find myself to be very picky.
If you are a side-sleeper then you will probably want a firmer pillow. So with that being said, how firm is the BioSense pillow? Well… I can tell you right now that this pillow is incredibly firm, and I’m not even exaggerating about that either. If you don’t want a firm pillow then you should be looking for a different pillow.
Despite being very firm, the BioSense still feels incredibly comfortable. You can definitely feel the memory foam contour to the shape of your head when you lay your head down on it. In addition to this, the pillow feels like it provides a good amount of support to both your head and neck, which is very important if you plan on getting a good night’s sleep (and not waking up with a sore neck!).
If you happen to change sleeping positions during the night then the memory foam will ‘reset’ and re-adjust to your next sleeping position. This is exactly why I love memory foam so much – you won’t be left with a pillow that has a big indent plastered into it.
You can tell that Brookstone took a lot of care in the overall design of the BioSense. A good example of this is the special cut-out made in the memory foam of the pillow, which can be seen by the lower half of the pillow. This cut-out is there to give you some much-needed room for your shoulders, and to also make sleeping on this pillow much more comfortable.
Like most traditional pillows, the BioSense is also hypoallergenic. This means that if you are someone who suffers from any allergies then you do not have to worry. The BioSense pillow is specifically designed reduce allergic reactions from happening.
What Do Customers Online Think?
Overall, a vast majority of customers who have already bought the pillow seem to be very satisfied with their purchase. In fact, as of writing this review, more than 150 customers have left feedback about the BioSense on Amazon. It is now sitting at a comfortable 4/5 star rating, which is not too bad at all in my opinion!
One of the biggest complaints about the pillow was that it slowly began to lose its firmness after a couple of months. I can’t really comment too much on this as I haven’t had my pillow for long enough to confirm this. Regardless though, you should definitely take this into consideration before buying the product.
Aside from that, most customers have really enjoyed using their BioSense, which makes me very confident in recommending this product for others to try out for themselves.
Final Thoughts
I’m not going to lie, I love this pillow.
If you are a side-sleeper like me then I am sure you will also fall in love with this pillow. If I had to summarize the BioSense in just a few sentences, then I would say that the pillow is fantastically light, very firm, comfortable, and provides plenty of support for your head and neck area.
