LectroFan Micro Review (2019)

We have heard many good things about the LectroFan Micro, so I think it’s about time we had a look at this popular white noise machine from Adaptive Sound Technologies Inc. (ASTI).

So with that being said let’s just straight into our LectroFan Micro Review!

For those of you who don’t know, the LectroFan Micro is a small and compact sound machine that really is small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. The small size of the unit makes it a great choice if you don’t have much room to spare, or if you are someone who travels around a lot. It’s portable enough to take with you wherever you go!

The LectroFan Micro weighs in at an incredibly light 0.3 lbs and is 2.75 x 2.75 x 4 inches in size. When you get the product you will receive the unit itself, along with a micro-USB charge cable for you to charge the device.

White noise machines are great for people who are exposed to noisy environments as they are able to help mask any unwanted noises and sounds. These machines are not only great for the bedroom, but also for offices too when you cannot afford to be distracted.

The LectroFan Micro comes in two colours for you to choose from: black/silver and white/silver. I personally prefer the look of the black/silver design, but ultimately it comes down to your own personal preference. You should decide on a colour that will best match the look and feel of your bedroom, or location where the device will be situated.

There are 10 different sounds (known as SoundStories) available for you to choose from, including: 5 fan sounds, 4 white noises, and a peaceful ocean sound. These sounds are perfect for relaxation, studying, and sleep.

The LectroFan Micro has an incredibly simplistic and basic design. As you can tell from the images it features two different parts: a top part, and a bottom part. The top part is the speaker, which can be swivelled up or down to make storage much easier, or can be adjusted to point the speaker in a certain direction (up or ahead). You can do this by simply twisting the top part and then adjusting it from there.

You will find three toggle buttons at the base of the machine. These three buttons are used to control the functionality of the device.

Each button has two different actions depending on whether they are pressed down briefly (short press) or held down (long press).

1. Pressing the Power/Pause button down will turn the LectroFan Micro on or off.
2. Short pressing one of these buttons will toggle the next/previous SoundStory to play. Long pressing one of these buttons will increase or decrease the volume of the device (±1db increments).

At first glance you may not think that the LectroFan Micro can produce quality sounds due its size, but this is where you would be wrong. The device can produce some very good sounds, and at a very good volume too. This is something I personally did not expect.

The LectroFan Micro has around 16 hours of battery life if you using it to play white noise/fan sounds, and around 6 hours if it is paired up with a Bluetooth device to play audio from it.

If the battery of the device starts to get low then you can easily charge it back up using a power adapter (not included). If this is not a viable option for you at the time then you can also plug in a micro-USB cable to begin charging.

If for any reason you wish to ‘hard restart’ the machine then you can do this by holding down the power button for 15 seconds. You will hear a fan sound if it has been performed successfully. You may need to do this is the unit ever malfunctions, although I don’t think this would be very common.

One thing I would also like to mention is that the LectroFan Micro comes with 1-year limited warranty, just in case the product happens to break or stopped functioning properly. If you take good care of the machine then I could see it lasting a few years at least.
